As with any method of communication, email has been abused by unscrupulous businesses. Because of the poor practices of a few companies that decide to invade the privacy of email recipients, ISPs were forced to install filters that sometimes exclude legitimate email from reaching the inboxes of interested, opt-in subscribers.
That's where we come in. It is our job to respond to the concerns of ISPs on your behalf to ensure that your legitimate emails are reaching your subscriber base. Here's a run-down of what we are doing:
Challenge/Response: Informz responds to all challenges coming back to the envelope address (informz.net) by replying to the challenge message or clicking a link in the challenge message, whichever is required. By doing this, we are "telling" the ISP that the original message was legitimate and thus allowing the original email to be delivered to the subscriber's inbox. We answer each challenge on a case-by-case basis to ensure the highest rate of deliverability possible.
Blocks/ISP Restrictions: Each ISP has its own criteria for determining which email is considered SPAM and which is let through. When an ISP blocks an Informz email, we contact that ISP directly to assure them that Informz-driven messages are legitimate opt-in messages. We also learn about the filtering criteria of the ISP so that we can make changes in Informz to conform to their standards.
Web-Based ISPs: ISPs using web interfaces, such as AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. present a special challenge. As these are some of the largest managers of email accounts, they often have special requirements for delivery. It is our job to remain in constant contact with these email providers and ensure Informz remains within their regulations.
The biggest help you can give us in helping ensure the highest delivery rates possible for your emails is simple: please only send relevant emails to a list of subscribers who have opted-in to receive your mailings. By doing this, you can help cut down the number of challenges and blocks on your emails, increasing not only your delivery rates, but your conversion rates as well.
